Housing Element Update
The Housing Element is one of seven elements required by State law to be included in the Los Gatos General Plan. The Housing Element addresses housing needs for all income groups in Los Gatos and must be updated every five years.
The goals of the Housing Element are:
- To increase the supply of housing and the mix of housing types in an equitable manner.
- To promote infill development and socioeconomic equity and protect environmental resources.
- To promote an improved jobs/housing balance.
Housing Element GPC Meeting #6
The GPC will meet on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Neighborhood Center, 208 E. Main Street, (Room 214) from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. At this meeting GPC members will review and discuss the Housing Sites Inventory. A PowerPoint presentation will not be presented at this meeting. Hard copies of Housing Sites Inventory will be provided and are included with other materials for download at the link below.

The GPC will meet on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Neighborhood Center, 208 E. Main Street, (Room 214) from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. At this meeting GPC members will review and discuss the revised Housing Element policy alternatives. A PowerPoint presentation will not be presented at this meeting. Hard copies of Housing Element policy alternatives will be provided and are included with other materials for download at the link below.

The GPC will meet on Wednesday, August 11, 2009 at the Neighborhood Center, 208 E. Main Street, (Room 214) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At this meeting GPC members will review and discuss the existing Housing Element policies and proposed Housing Element policy alternatives. A PowerPoint presentation will not be presented at this meeting. Hard copies of the existing policies and proposed policy alternatives will be provided and are included with other materials for download at the link below.

Housing Element Technical Appendix
This document includes the five of the six required chapters of the Housing Element Technical Appendix. The chapters included in this document include the: Introduction, Needs Assessment, Projected Housing Needs, Constraints and Review of 2003 Housing Element.
Please note, this document does not inlcude the Housing Sites Inventory. This chapter will be included once the complete site inventory is completed.
Housing Element GPC Meeting #1
As part of the Housing Element Update, the Town introduced the Los Gatos Housing Element and the Update process to the General Plan Advisory Committee at their first meeting on June 11, 2008.
